The Tourist In Me

There is so much to see and do in Las Vegas, and I don't drink and I barely gambled.

The first night, after a brief getting lost period, we ended up at The Forum Shoppes at Caesar's Palace. Very fancy. We ate at The Cheesecake Factory. We checked out the shops. We went to this fancy pants chocolate shop. The chocolate was fabulous. I got a box to bring home. We also bought David's mom a little something at Bath and Body Works.

The next day we started the day at a huge outlet mall. David got new pink shorts. He is in to pink right now. Carolynn bought a few things. It was nice.

Next, we went to the World Famous Gold And Silver Pawn Shop. That is the one from the TV show, Pawn Stars on the History Channel. Ask my kids, the History Channel and the Food Network are the only channels I know. Catherine took a picture, but the line was long. It was so hot out. So we didn't go in.

The girls and I walked through our hotel. Then we walked around in the Luxor. Then the Excalibur and New York New York. We walked across the street to the M&M store and Coca-Cola World. It was freaking hot. (David and Pooky were napping.)

After that, David and I went to a Fry's store near our hotel. Then off to dinner at the Luxor. We stuffed ourselves silly.

Thursday, after we checked out of our hotel, we went to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast. I was not impressed. I prefer Winchell's. Then we went for a drive.

We looked at casinos along the strip. We drove by the Pawn Stars shop again. This time, no line. So we went in. It was cool. They had stuff from the show, plus a lot of other stuff. We didn't see the stars of the show, but it was still cool.

Then we were driving and we saw the sign for Rick's Restoration from the History Channel show, American Restoration. I was just going to take a picture, after all it is a real business. But, since it is also a TV show, they had a little tour and a little shop. While we were waiting for the tour you could view the "Boneyard", all the stuff ready to be restored for customers.

Then we saw Brettly and his dog Nana. She is a very well behaved dog and stayed right by him. Well, except for when she came over and licked my baby. David and I gave her a little pat before they were on their way. She must like kids and Pooky was the only kid there at the time.

Then we saw Kelly, Rick's wife. She was posing with some basketball coaches who were also visiting. I took her picture.

Then we took a little tour of the workshop. We saw the same workers we see on TV really working in there. It was neat.

Then we went back to the outlet mall to stay cool. We tried a pizza place right there called Joe's New York Pizza. They had good pizza. But then it was time to head home.

There is so much more we wanted to see and do. We just ran out of time.... And money.
