India In The Kitchen

Well, we just finished our Indian/Mediterranean dinner. It was not exactly the best food ever. Nevertheless, we had an adventure and we all tried something new. Hummus is gross. Just so you know. The curry-creamed chicken was good. I was going to make curried chicken tenders, but we tried this instead. Couscous is okay, but it was a little bland. I never thought Indian food would be bland. Catherine made pita chips that are good too. David would not try the Hummus. We could not blame him. Catherine tried a red bell pepper. She made an awful face. Carolynn somehow ended up wearing her chicken. It was an adventurous dinner. Next week we are trying Greek food from a near by diner. It will be another adventure.

  1. Well I will take your word on the Hummus, I do not think Iwant to try it either. I think you will like greek foods better. Have you ever seen that movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" They are aways eating and they drink this stuff that tastes a little like licorice.
It is fun to try new things but Hummus and sushi are going to get a big "hell no."

  3. I was thinking how gross hummus is when you posted you were going to eat it but I didn't want to influence your opinion on it so I didn't warn you. Sorry, lol. As for couscous, it's good if you flavor it and put veggies in it. Plain couscous is, well, plain. I've never had sushi but I will try it someday. C likes it. I LOVE Greek food. YUM!

  4. Greek food and ouzo sounds like a party to me. Get some filo dough and make some meat pie. I see people use filo dough on the food network all the time. They use it for sweet and savory dishes. I guess you can just get filo at any market The simi homemade chick uses it a lot. I do not care for her, she is always too excited about the table scape......The center piece the name cards, the table cloth. Hey just give me the food on a paper plate and that is fine by me. Some of her recipes are pretty good, and easy to make though.

  5. Trish... Thanks for allowing us all to try that. :) I figured couscous would be better with more flavor. I cooked mine in chicken stock and added bell peppers and peas. I think I should have added some spices too.

I can't wait to try the Greek food. We are getting it from a place called Daphne's down the street.

Catherine loves Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee. She usually makes easy dishes and Catherine is always busy making place cards and tablescapes.

    Carolynn like sushi.

  6. I like to try different places to eat. In boston we ate at a very old German place and the food was excellent, then we ate at an Irish pub and I had the sheperds pie it was good too. We mostley have Itailian, Mexican, and Asian places here in California. Asian food is different if it is Thai or Japanese or Chinese.
There is a little German place in San Bernardino and they have pretty good food, the red cabbage and German potatoe salad are good. They are not open on the week-end so it is hard to get there, but my dad's heart doctor is right down the road so after he had his batteries checked we went in one day.
I can not think of any Greek or Irish, or even french food places in the high desert. They may have some in the Los Angeles area.
