In The Beginning…

Tomorrow I start my part time job at Patty’s Critters. It is going to be fun. I had to pick up a handful of crickets to get this job. It was like Fear Factor. I have been getting bored sitting around here doing nothing. Tomorrow I also am starting some college classes. David is starting some too. I finished my AA, and Victor Valley College does not offer any more classes in my major area, so I am taking an art history class and a health class. This will be David’s first entry into college. David already got a part time job at McDonald’s. It is so part time in fact, that in two weeks he has only worked about 10 hours. He is still looking for better job opportunity. He has applied to about a million places or something. I have faith that something will come along soon. (Of course, I have been saying that for two months now.)

Carolynn made the cross-country team at her school. She has been practicing hard after school. Catherine’s school had a luau on Thursday. It was very fun and she and David had a good time. (I was taking Carolynn to her baton class.)

August is almost over and things are looking up. Tomorrow I begin my fabulous new job at a pet shop and two new classes. Right now though, I am off to the Laundromat. Woo!

  1. The job sounds like fun. I've always thought it'd be neat to work at a pet store but then I'd end up with half the inventory at my house, lol.

  2. I think it will be fun, Patty, who owns the store is really nice and it will keep me busy and I can earn a buck or two along the way. I do worry all the pets will have to come home with me.

  3. Well it will be a busy Monday working at the pet shop and then starting your classes at VVC. It is hard to sit at home all day....just ask my dad. During the day there are not many baseball games, he rakes the yard a little trims a rose bush or sweeps the porch. There is only so much you can do.

  4. Sounds like you are all settling into your new community. Enjoy your new job. And good luck to David in his quest for steadier employment. I think it's great you are taking some classes. You never know when you might learn something that will help you get a better job or win a trivia contest. ;D
