Wow

My bank went out of business... MY BANK! Seriously, I never expected that. Washington Mutual has been around 119 years. Now I apparently bank with JP Morgan Chase. The website says that everything will stay the same. I wonder if I should change to Bank of America or Wells Fargo.

Anyway, I missed the Thursday 13 yesterday. That was my first miss since I started. I forgot and I had a huge migraine.

Yesterday was my one month anniversary at the pet shop. They gave me a shirt with fish on it.

We took Elvis to get his nails cut. I am too afraid I will hurt him to do it myself. We had the PetsMart do it. It's only $11 and they did a fine job.

Gibby has an appointment on the 8th to get himself fixed. I am sure he will love me more after that. I got him a Halloween costume at the PetsMart today.

The girls have begun their Fall Break. No school for two whole weeks!

That is about it. Sunday we leave for Las Vegas. That will give me more to say.

Review To Nancy Drew

Nancy Drew Baby-Sitter Burglaries-I liked this book because it was a very interesting book.My favorite part was when Ian MacDonald put Nancy in a crate tied up and pushed it in the lake and tried to drown Nancy but,she used David's magic trick to get out of the crate. You should read this book.It is a very good book.

Gibson At The Plate

Nope Dodger fans, not this Gibson...

This one...

Yep, this is my new dog Gibson, or as we call him Gibby. He is part Pomeranian, part chihuahua and 8 lbs of Dodger fan. My mom got him for me. She found him in the paper. My dad and my Grandpa named him. He is 3 1/2 months old. He is very cute. He has yet to do any business on my floor. He tried to eat my tamale, but that didn't work out for him. He did eat some puppy chow. He learned to get up on the couch. He follows me everywhere I go. He chased the cats a bit and played with Elvis. Now he is sleeping next to me on the couch. Earlier Grandpa took us all to PetsMart to get him a collar and some food. He is very good in the car and was even good in the store. The girls were so excited when they got home and found him with me on the couch. Carolynn carried him all around. I think Catherine is a bit much for him, but she already has a dog, Elvis. This is what he looked like when I brought home Gibby.

I was never a tiny dog kind of girl, but working at a pet shop and seeing everyone else's made me want one. Carolynn wanted one too. So here he is. Gibby!

Depression

***WARNING! This post is about to be filled of whining and sad pathetic moaning. If you want to skip it, scroll down and take a look at our regular "Wordless Wednesday" post and have a laugh at the cat. You have been warned.***

I am so sick of being poor. Seriously. I haven't had proper money since May. In June we were moving. In July I was unemployed and broke. That has continued through... um today. Okay, not exactly. I am employed. I work part time for minimum wage cleaning fish tanks. Not that that is a bad thing. I like working at the pet shop. I would like a lot better to make some grownup money. I would have a job for grown ups if not for some stupid paperwork mess up. That job will eventually return to the ring, probably mid-October, but until then...

I must conserve. I feel bad when ever I go place with my parents or Grandpa because I don't have money and they pay for stuff. But if not for them, I couldn't afford to leave the house.

So here I am, depressed and feeling sorry for myself. I don't know many people here, just my family. I have only my online friends, who, as wonderful as they are, are basically virtual. I thought if I got a part time job while I continued to look for my "real" job, I might meet some people or at least have some people interaction. But alas, fish are pretty, but do not talk. One of the girls at the pet shop thinks I need a dog to keep me company. Yes, I know, we have a dog. Elvis is Catherine's dog all the way. He sleeps with her. We have cats. Cleo is Carolynn's cat. She usually only comes out of Carolynn's room for food, the kitty box, and to find Carolynn. Kitty is mostly David's cat. She does sleep with Carolynn sometimes. I think she may be trying to kill me. She flops out where ever I may be walking and dares me to try and step over her. We also have Little Dude, Carolynn's turtle.

Maybe she is right. My mom has Hercules and my Grandpa has Mickey. Hercules is a Pomeranian and Mickey is a Chihuahua mix. There had been a little Boston terrier at work that I liked a lot, but he went off to a good home (at a good price). Now we have some of the cutest little miniature dachshunds. They are much cheaper and very cute. I am sure I could get a heck of a deal, but even a super deal is out of my price range.

That's one of the issues of working at a pet shop. The kitties don't get me as much. I have never been a big cat person. I like the cats we have and I don't want to get rid of them, but I don't want more. The puppies are all cute, and I want them all. The fish are so pretty and it makes me want a huge tank of them. We have pond stuff too and it makes me want to build a huge one in the yard. As I am leaning more about some of the reptiles, even some of them seem cool. When I was younger I had many pets. Probably too many, if you ask my mom.

Maybe I just need a hobby. I tried knitting. That keeps my hands busy if I am watching TV, but not much of a hobby. Most hobbies take money. I guess this is a hobby.

Well, that's enough of my "Whine Fest Wednesday".(That was for you Trisha)

Tomorrow, another day, another fish tank. Look for me there hanging around a pet shop, 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Friday is my one day off a week. Saturday and Sunday are my favorites. I still have to go to work, but I don't have to clean fish tanks, get up as early, and I get to interact with customers.

My computer isn't working so well today. David thinks it overheated. He is working on it. (Not right now though, he at his job.)It seems to work now, but he is still a little worried about overheating. So for now, I am using his computer. Today I bring you a few interesting pictures I found on David's computer. Why do guys find such strange crap to be so humorous?

Sick

Yesterday I woke up with what I had thought what a slight sinus headache. I get those sometimes, so I simply took a Sudafed and went off to my fabulous pet shop job. But I didn't get better. It got worse and worse all day. I was hot, then cold. I was dizzy. My head was pounding. I was nauseous. It was awful. I don't know where it came from. I made it through my whole day at work, and then I stayed late to sell a puppy to a lady. (That takes some extra time.) Finally, I made it home. I flopped down on the couch. Carolynn cooked the dinner. (We had the very last Hamburger Helper.) Then I fell asleep on the couch. About 2 hours later, I got up and went to bed. Today, I feel fine.

Feeling fine today is a good thing, because today we are going to the fair with Helen and George. It is going to be fun. Catherine is very excited to see some cows.

This week, I started playing a football picking game online at a local radio station. I saw on the list that my dad is playing too. The weekly winners win pizza and if you are the over all season winner you get a new game room... pool table, dart board, bar, ect. If somehow, I manage to win that, I am giving it to my brother. He has a game room at his house. It has a dart board and ping pong table.

Carolynn ran her first cross country meet here on Thursday. She came is second. That's out of three grades and four schools. That kid can run. She was going to try volleyball, that starts after cross country ends, but they were already full. She will do track and field in the spring though.

Well, I am off to get ready for our day at the fair. Carolynn said my mom called last night while I was asleep and is expecting us there around 9:00.

So Long Summer

Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone had a great weekend. I worked on Saturday, but I had Sunday and Monday off. The first week at the pet store was fun. It certainly is different. I learned a lot about fish tanks.

David worked on Saturday too and he will be working all week. I just don't understand the scheduling at that McDonald's. It's too weird. He worked like 10 hours in three weeks and then all of the sudden, he has like 30 hours this week.

Carolynn has her first cross country meet this week. She is very excited.

Today my parents came over and we had a nice Labor Day barbecue. Carolynn baked some potatoes. I made some corn on the cob and some pasta salad. David manned the grill. He grilled chicken breasts for my mom, steak for me, my dad, Carolynn, and himself, and shrimp for Catherine and my dad. I think he did a pretty good job. It was his first time grilling anything besides hamburgers. He was very worried he was going to mess it up.

Tomorrow I go back to my pet shop job. David goes back to his burger flipping job at McDonald's. The girls will be off to school.
