I am sick of social media. Facebook is so full of people who believe everything on the internet. David calls Facebook a bunch of “Dank Memes” and funny cat pictures. Twitter is only useful for news. I use it as my own special news feed. It includes nice things like when Disneyland is open and what movies are coming out. And Instagram is becoming less of family pictures and more of those “dank memes”. I am tired of it. I want to hear about my friends and family. I don’t want to be blasted from both sides with political drama and nonsense. I want to share my life with my family and friends as well. But I can’t do that on Facebook any more. No one will notice between the political drama and the cat pictures. No, I will not copy and paste to show I love America or veterans or cats or my spouse or that I support cancer research or saving the whales.
So I am bringing back the blog. It’s retro. It’s hip. It’s cool. And you know what?
IT IS MINE!
No dank memes.
No funny cat pictures.
NO POLITICAL DRAMA!
Actually, let’s just go with NO DRAMA!
Keep it to yourself.
I am quite excited about this. I finally have a place where I can record my family history in peace. Okay, so I had it all along and I let technology come and jerk me around. You don’t know it yet, but I have already written at least 15 new posts. Yeah. I know.
So get ready.
And seriously, no more dank memes.

Days Of Wine And Bacon
They say you shouldn't cook with a wine you won’t drink. I don’t drink wine. So where does that leave me? Buying the cheapest wine I find, that is where.
I found this pork chop recipe a few months ago and it has been a hit around here. Pintrest… is there anything it can’t do?
It calls for white wine.
I was going to make it a few weeks ago and I was out of white wine. Around the same time, Carolynn wanted me to make her and Michelle’s favorite, bacon fried rice. We were also out of bacon. So I ask David to pick up those two items on his way home one day.
He picks up the girls from school and heads over to the Winco. He picks up a $2.97 bottle of white wine and a pound of bacon. Quite the combo; Less than $6 purchase.
He takes it up and the cashier won’t ring it up for him. He shows his ID. Okay, he looks young. Good for him. But he has his ID so no big deal… Or so you would think.
But the checker won’t sell him the wine. She insinuates that David is buying this wine to give to Carolynn and Catherine who are with him. Because they are under aged and he looks like the kind of guy who buys $2.97 bottles of wine for minors. Or so he can get them drunk and take advantage of them. Whatever.
The manager is called and basically tells him the same thing. He tries telling them that they are his kids but no one is buying that. We just cook with it. They aren’t buying that either. They eventually let him make his purchase, after making him feel like a creepy child predator first.
I know a lot of dumb criminals.
But in this case…
If you are planning on buying alcohol for minors, why would you bring them with you? Why would you make the purchase in broad daylight at a large market? And why would you buy a cheap bottle of white wine? And why would you need bacon?
Bacon…

Tall Boy's Block
I am not a fan of rap music. Really. I like some. Usually some older stuff. I like Eminem. But really, I am just not a fan.
I have a friend who is a rapper. He has a little fan base going. He's written some songs. He even recorded some of them. He is very ambitious. He has done some performances. He has a really cute logo. He's has hats and shirts made with it. He's not a bad looking guy. And to top it all off, he is a really nice guy. That is the best part.
We got to talking one day and he discovered that I like computers and websites and stuff. He asked me to help him build a cool website for his music. So I did.
I had fun. I learned a whole bunch. With my help, he purchased a domain name, subscribed to a web-host, and purchased a cool template. I put it all together (with David's help) and I have been maintaining it for him. I have also been maintaining his Facebook, My Space and Twitter. It's kind of fun. And I know he appreciates my help.
So if your a rap fan, check out my friend Tall Boy's website at www.tallboy100block.com. Even if your not a rap fan, check out the site and see how I did. I even have a custom email there for website feedback: jennifer@tallboy100block.com.

Are You Ready For Some Football?
I mentioned before that I have been playing fantasy football with some family members. It's my first time playing and I kind of like it.
When my dad asked me to play, I figured I would try it. I didn't know anything about football. (I still don't really.) Sometimes David watches football and we usually watch the Super Bowl for the ads and halftime. I didn't even know players names.
Luckily, all I do is work with tons of men. Men who watch football. Men who play fantasy football. So in the weeks leading up to the start of this I spent a lot of time asking guys I work with a lot of questions.
What the heck is a fantasy football?
How do I know what the good players are?
How do I get good players?
How do they score points?
What teams are good?
First off, you'd think these men had never been asked these questions before and most were super happy to answer. I got so many opinions. Everyone has favorite teams and favorite players. They went on and on and on...
Anyways, by draft day I had a list of player that could be good. That was fun. I was trying to get the best players I could while the rest of my family were trying to do me in.
Players in my league include me, my dad, my step-mom Vicki, my sister Nikki, my cousin Wendy, her brother, my cousin Jerry, his wife Brenda, and Vicki's son, my step-brother Brandon. My team is called “Spanish Inquisition”. Why?
Every week my dad sends out a recap. I love that. It's funny. His team is called “The Stingrays”. He named it after his car. Anyways, it has been fun so far. I lose more than I win. But that's okay. It has been fun anyway. And if I have to lose to people, I am glad it's them. This week I am playing my dear sister. Her team is called “Slick Chicks”. She should have called it “About To Lose” because she is about to.
I am really going to miss this when it is over.

Fitocracy Rules!
I'll admit it, I am not thin. I have seen a scale. The scale barely survived. I get it. I need to eat better and exercise. I know this. You know this. And yet, here I sit, at this computer, because like many people I know, I can't seem to put it down.
What if I miss some important Tweet or Facebook update?
The hidden objects in Gardens Of Time won't find themselves.
And Pogo would miss me.
And my iPad... the little villagers in Trade Nations can't go on without me and the fruit needs to be sliced ninja style.
And how could I go on with my life without playing Words with Friends and Hanging With Friends?
And xbox and Playstation and Wii....
Okay.
You get it. And you do it too. It's probably you who is playing Words With Friends and Gardens Of Time with me.
So what are we going to do about this?
Get fatter?
I say no.
Let us combine our silly computer games and exercise.
Welcome to the Fitocracy.
Fitocracy is this fabulous new social media game that forces you to work out to level up. It inspires you with fun quests to try new things. David, the girls, and I have been playing it for a little while now.
And you know what... We feel better! Serious. David lost 7lbs in a month or so. My pants are looser and people at my work have said I have been looking thinner.
We have been having so much fun with this. We have been walking the dogs more. Going to the park more. We even spent some time at the park playing Frisbee with the dogs just to complete a quest.
Fitocracy is the reason David wanted thisfor Father's Day and we have all been using it. Even Catherine can bench 20lbs. Yesterday, to try and complete a quest, David and I went out to specifically try to jog a mile is less than 10 minutes. And I have been doing crunches until my abs hurt to try and finish a quest to do 50 crunches in one set. I haven't managed it yet. But I am getting closer.
Because of the Fitocracy, I spent an afternoon in the park playing soccer with Catherine. David did it on another afternoon and little kids in the park joined in on the fun. And David and I have even gone to evening lap swim at the pool with Carolynn and attempted to swim laps. Carolynn smoked us, but we tried it.
Thanks to Fitocracy, my Wii Fit, which has been collecting dust in the closet, has been brought back out. And everyone has been enjoying it.
So, how about you join us? Put down the lap tops. Get your hand off the mouse. Turn off that Call Of Duty.
Fitocracy is still in beta testing, so you'll need an invite.
And guess what... I have plenty of them!
Just click on this link here and join in. Add me as a friend, user name JenCaSea. We can encourage each other to get up and move. If you have trouble getting this link to work, send me an email jencasea@gmail.com and I will send you a personal invite. Also, if we are Facebook friends or Twitter followers, look for the invites there as well.
Come on.
Do it.
Do it now.

New And Improved
In case you had not noticed, this website went through a bit of a change. We did not really add anything new on here (except for Bart Simpson) but we changed the look. Now it is less tropical, more fruit.
The biggest change you will find now is our expansion. To the right at the top you will find the Bowl of Fruit.
I have not had much to write about. I have just been working. Oh, my grades came in and I got an 87 in math and a 98 in my multicultural class. I rule! We had a nice camping trip to Julian a couple weeks ago, in case you have not seen the movie. We saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3. It was awesome. The girls and David and probably Kina, are going to see it again. Well, that is it for now. Carolynn has been doing all the exciting stuff. Maybe she will write about it. Probably not…

Tubes
This is new. Go to www.tubesnow.com and download the free tubes software. This is for people who are a little more technologically advanced or what have you. If you do get the software, it allows you to instantly share files with others who use your tube. You get to invite only those you want and you can store many files in there. I put our entire movie collection in the Tropical Fruit tube. So if you want to join us let me know and I will send you an invite to our tube. I also am going to put some pictures in there so you will be able to get them at better quality than when you steal them from on here. In addition, maybe you can get some of the ones I used in my movies that you cannot steal. You can also gain access to some other things I might put in there that I can not post on here. My friend Trish uses it and she put this in mine. Give it a try. www.tubesnow.com

Random
Spiderman 3 was good but a little over crowded. There was so much stuff going on and too many villains.
Netflix is so wonderful. This past weekend we watched The Flintstones movie. I have not seen that one in ages and that was the first time the kids saw it. I just loved it when it came out. My mom had these drinking glasses from McDonald’s with The Flintstone’s on them. I wonder if she still has them. We also watched Night at the Museum. That one was not so great. Today we should be getting Dreamgirls. I cannot wait to see that.
Carolynn is getting ready for her elementary graduation. The school is taking fifth graders to The Wave, a nearby water park. They are also having a teacher vs. fifth Grade softball game. In addition, there will be a graduation ceremony. I will be there with my cameras so be prepared. My regular (still photo) camera seems to be having some trouble. It does not seem damaged and it turns on fine, but the screen looks all blurry and like how it used to look when you turned to the HBO channel when you did not have HBO. I have not had that camera too long. Maybe like 4 years. It is a Sony Cybershot.
I bought my mom a mother’s day card right before we went to Las Vegas. I found it still in my desk on Monday while I was looking for something else. Oops. Better late than never.
Make sure you watch Catherine’s Story. She is a little hard to hear because the video camera I use is cheap and not good. One day, when I have more money, I will get a super cool one that makes DVD’s or something. But, not today. Carolynn did a similar video too, so be sure and check her out.
I am totally addicted to Rosie O’Donnell’s blog. I came across it one day, about a month ago or so. I was looking at the LOL Cats, they were nominated for a blog award, and then I clicked on the blog award site and happened to see hers. I clicked it and have been reading it since. I am not really sure why. Politically, she is very left of me. Her views tend to offend others. I personally think that she has a right to think or say whatever as long as it does not cause harm. If you do not like it, do not listen, turn the channel, surf another webpage. Whatever. Some of the stuff she says I do agree with and I think it is nice to see someone who is a “celebrity” be so real. I do not think it’s fake at all. She has a very nice family. So anyway, if you want to check it out: Rosie Blog. However, I warn you, those who are extremely republican, very right wing type of people, you probably will not like her blog. In addition, from the information I have gathered, it maybe illegal or sacrilegious or something else horrible, to read her blog while in the state of Texas. That fact has not been confirmed, just my opinion. P.S. There will be no major political discussion on this blog. It is a family page.
This weekend we are seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 3. I got free tickets from Albertson’s. I have six tickets so far. According to my last receipt I am $10 or so away from 2 more tickets so if you need some, let me know. People with kids get first choice.
We are also going camping this weekend. I get Monday off so we are going to be camping Sunday to Monday in Julian. It should be fun.
That is about it I think. If I sent you an e-mail about pictures don’t forget to send me some. If I did not send you an e-mail about pictures, it is because I already have some or I just have not yet and I will.

Links You Must See
I added two new links to our page today. {See Links section to the right, just under the Dried Fruit (Previous Posts) section and just above the Send Us An E-Mail section.} The two new links are to sites that I view regularly. One, I usually link from Trisha's page. It's Post Secret. It updates on Sunday. Basically, it's a page of postcards with secrets written on them that people send in. The other site updates often and is just silly. It's called ICANHASCHEEZBURGER- lolcats with tags for your convenience. I just have it listed as LOL Cats. Anyway, they are amusing. Enjoy.
