Family Time

The one you've been waiting for. I am holding off on the post about my friend Heather's husband because they are in the middle of a move and will be unable to see it.

In No Particular Order

On Thursday, Carolynn ran in her third cross-country meet. David and I were unable to attend so there are no pictures. She came in 74th. She was still first for her school, but she was going a little slow because Jessica joined the team and she was trying to stay with her. I told them both that was dumb, it was a race. They should both go out and do their best and not worry about keeping together. I am sure they will live if they are separated for 15 minutes.

I went to the Jack In The Box for lunch earlier this week. I waited until about 1:30 so it would not be so crowded. I go in, order my tacos and fries, and get my iced tea. I sit down and just as I unwrap my taco, a woman comes in with a screaming child. He was probably about three or four. He was screaming, “NO! I WANT TO GO TO MCDONALDS! I WANT CHICKEN NUGGETS!”

So his mom is dragging him in and saying, “It’s okay they have kid’s meals here with chicken. Don’t cry.” And she proceeds to purchase some lunch. Then she sits down right at the booth behind me. Now the little screamer (who has yet to stop his tiny tirade) is sitting directly behind me kicking the seat. It was very sunny on the other side of the restaurant so that is why the chose to sit there. Anyway, the woman put a kids meal in front of him and said, “Look Kevin, see, they have chicken.”

Kevin quieted down a minute, and then screamed, “THESE AREN’T CHICKEN NUGGETS! I WANT CHICKEN NUGGETS.” You see, at Jack In The Box, the chicken comes in strips not in processed nugget form. He starts kicking, screaming, and yelling. I am back to back with the little kicker.

His mom is over there calmly eating her burger or whatever and saying, “Eat your lunch Kevin.” I am eating as fast as I can so I can get out of there. Next thing I know, I have chicken strips in my hair. I picked the chicken out of my hair and turned around. Kevin’s mom says, “Look what you did Kevin, you hit that lady with your chicken.” Kevin found that very funny. I got up to put my trash in the bin. Kevin threw his honey mustard at me. I was covered in sauce. The Jack in the Box woman was stunned. She came rushing over to help me clean up. However, all Kevin’s mom said was, “Kevin, now what will you dip your chicken in?”

What made me even madder was I was wearing my pink Eeyore polo shirt and by the time I got home, the stain was set. I love that shirt.

I still have not finished my movie. I intend to finish it today though. I also intend to finish that post I was writing about Heather’s husband Ken. Both should be up today.

I was supposed to go out with a friend today, but unfortunately, she had some car trouble and will not be making it to town. She lives in the San Francisco area.

I got some new books the other day. Therefore, I intend to spend my weekend reading. The girls are going out for a visit today so it should be peaceful.

There Is Nothing Exciting About Tuesday

I finished Catherine's movie and posted it on her page. I am working on two other posts. One about my friend Heather's husband (He's a hero.) and the other is a video about my weekend trip two weekends ago. That one was having technical difficulties. I think I should have it finished tomorrow. Other than that, nothing exciting going on here. Carolynn has a cross country meet this week on Thursday. Like last week, I will send in a substitute to get pictures since I have to work. David and Catherine went last week to cheer and take the pictures. Anyway, check out the video from Catherine's birthday.

Happy Birthday Catherine

Party Pooped

Catherine's birthday party is over. It was very interesting. Catherine isn't a very good hostess. But she says she liked it and the other girls said they had fun. I will make a video as soon as I recuperate.

Happy Birthday Dear Catherine!

Our little Catherine is growing up. She turned eight today. We did not do anything special today. We had some cupcakes and she got a card from my Grandma. She had a little party last weekend at my mom’s house. (I am still working on my video from last weekend’s trip.) Tomorrow she is having a sleepover. So far, one person has called to say they were coming. We spent all today getting ready. The house is clean and the decorations are up. We are having a puppy party. I will be making a video I am sure. All that cleaning made me tired and I doubt I will get much sleep tomorrow. I had better get to bed while the gettin’ is good.

3 More Things

I've been so busy, I forgot to mention Carolynn ran in her first cross country meet on Thursday. She came in 37th out of 131 6th and 7th grade girls. She came in first for her school. Her next meet is tomorrow. I will try and get some pictures, but she runs in the first race which starts at 4:00 and I don't get off until 4:30. By the time I get there, she'll be done. I forgot my camera last week. I took the afternoon off to go to her first one.

Catherine is having a sleepover this Friday. She doesn't make friends easily (she prefers to play with her imagination) and I am worried no one is coming. She invited 8 girls. We have tons of puppy decorations from Party City.

I had to re-edit my Old Folks video to put it on DVD for my Grandpa. So here is the new edit.

Sick

I hope everyone enjoyed my Hollywood Epic Trilogy. I would like to thank my mom for taking a bunch of cool picture to use. I would like to thank my sister for putting them in the tube so I could use them. Finally, I would like to thank my dad for his music choices.

My next movie should be up by the weekend. I went out to the Best Buy last night to buy the perfect song for that movie. I am positive my dad did not have that one. I am sure everyone will enjoy it.

Today I am home sick from work. I hate being sick and I hate missing work. What makes it worse is that I made sure to tell my boss early that I would not be in and he called right after 10 to ask me where I was. He still did not get the message. I left early yesterday too. I am losing my voice. It is worst in the early morning when I wake up. By afternoon, I am understandable again but it is hard to swallow and I have a terrible cough. Anyway, now I am all worried about work because he did not get the message. I am supposed to be resting, but no such luck. I had a present for my boss too.

Yesterday, I learned something new. I can now make a movie that you can play in a DVD player. That is so cool. What this means is, not only can I post my videos for my website fans to see, but also I can put some on DVD’s for my Grandpa. I am putting “Hanging with the Old Folks” on a DVD for him. When he gets back from vacation, I can get pictures from my mom and make him a movie about his vacation that he can play in his DVD player. How cool is that? I made a movie last night on DVD for my boss to send to his family in Chicago.

Well, I guess I will try to get some rest. I cannot remember the last time I had the house to myself. The kids are at school and David is at work.

Mystery Book

The post right underneath this was posted by Catherine. I am not sure how she did it. She says she was trying to save the website to show me so I could buy her that book for her birthday. She is so wierd.

So since everyone is interested in my plans for the weekend...

I thought about going to my mom's to hang out with my sister. But then, I decided not to because my parents are getting ready to go on a trip and I didn't want my kids to get in the way. Then my sister still insisted I come and she also insistes my dad wants us to come too. So in the end we decided to make the trip. Tomorrow we are making the trip to the high desert. Sunday they are making the trip down here to Pala.

Tomorrow I shall be making my Hollywood Epic about last weekends adventure. Stay tuned.

Hollywood Glamour

Finally, the tubes are working again and all my moms, sisters and cousins pictures are at this moment flooding into my computer. Now I can make the videos. Or not. I have a limited selection of music here, but I have had some excellent suggestions for songs to use. Unfortunately, I own no CD’s with those songs, which may force me to drive up and load up with songs from my dad. He has a massive music collection. We shall see.

I was at the Albertson’s yesterday and actually saw a leek. It looks like a giant chive.

Today we went to Party City to get stuff for Catherine’s birthday. She is having a small party on the 22nd. She got a bunch of puppy stuff. It is all very cute. We got some candy to put in the doggy bags. David grabbed this huge bag of Warheads candy. He made me try one and I can tell you that will not happen again. That was the sourest candy ever. I thought my mouth was going to suck right in. It was terrible. Everyone laughed at me. Carolynn ate four of them. She is insane.

I still have a cold. It sucks.

Technical Difficulties

I have a cold, which makes things feel a million times worse.

My Hollywood Epic Movie is taking some time. I had 77 pictures on my camera. Carolynn had about 10 on hers. My mom, sister and cousin had tons on theirs. They sent them over via Tubes, but the tube is not working so I cannot see them. If they had e-mailed them, it would have taken dozens of e-mails and a lot of time to send that many pictures. Therefore, the tube was a better way to go. However, it is not working. I am actually considering just driving up there on Saturday because not only can I just get them that way, but also my dad has a much larger music collection to choose from. Just FYI, you cannot use a downloaded ITunes or Napster song in a movie. The movie program will not let you. Yes, I know I will be seeing my family at Pala on Sunday as well and that might just be too much family, but I do love my movies.

I ordered soup for lunch today. Soup since I was sick. The deli’s soup of today is potato-leek. I do not think I ever ate anything with leek in it before. It tastes like an onion-flavored celery. It is a pretty good soup. Anyway, I have to get back to work. Until next time….

More Drama Than General Hospital…. More Controversy Than An Eminem Song… It’s Super Blog!

Okay, well that was an interesting little twist in life.

First, okay anonymous poster… you started it. You with your “control freak” comment. I do not know what that was all about. No one but me is in control of this site. There is no movie yet, not because “someone” is controlling anything, but because it takes awhile to put together something this big. There are many pictures, songs to acquire, some technical issues to work out.

Next, it is true that I did get the songs I wanted last time but they did not work. Yes, my sister handed them over, nope did not work. Yes, privately, I was giving her a hard time about it. I am her sister, that is my job.

Finally, as David is young, he is forgiven for a small lapse in adult thinking. I believe he was just sick of the anonymous comments from people taking jabs at my family. He does not know them, but he knows me. He would not want people talking bad about his family, no matter what he thinks of them, and I feel the same way. My family is far from perfect, but still, comments disparaging to them or anyone else should not be posted to my website. It is not fair to me to be put in that situation. As for who invited David to California, well, I am sure that moving states does not require an invitation. Maybe they changed the rules recently, but I doubt it. Moreover, nobody WANTS to go to Texas, in my opinion.

This brings me to this. From this day forward, no one who leaves an “anonymous” comment will be allowed. The option to leave anonymously will remain, as a convenience to those who wish to post a comment and do not have a Google account. However, since I get to read them before they are posted; all comments that are unsigned will be rejected.

This closes this subject. Any comments, e-mails or other communications regarding this will not be answered.

A Hollywood Adventure

Yesterday, the girls and I, my mom, my sister and my cousin, went on a Hollywood adventure. Most of it was excellent. There will be some movies about it. I am waiting for the other members of our adventuring party to hand over their pictures. I have Carolynn’s pictures and mine ready.

Here is a quick recap of our adventure…

Pink’s Hot Dog Stand was cool. The chili dogs were only okay. The chili was a little greasy.

The Farmer’s Market had many interesting smells. I got some Oolong Tea from a cool teashop there. We also had some awesome green tea there. I got some to take home too, but when I got home, I realized I had the same tea in a can I got at the World Markey, so I am giving that one to my mom. My sister and cousin ate ice cream with Fruity Pebbles on it.

China Town was an experience. They will haggle with you of everything and everything is so cheap.

Olvera Street was cool. It was very historic and had a lot of Mexican history. They also had some amazing food.

Hollywood was crazy. There were nuts as far as the eye could see.

The House Of Blues was cool, but Aly and AJ or on my hit list. Those little divas ruined the evening.

First, our tickets said the concert was supposed to start at 7:30. We got there at 6:45 and waited in line until almost 8:00 before they even started letting people in. Then my mom and I had to give some security guards a verbal punch in the face because they were giving us a hard time and made Catherine cry. I mean really people… these were little kids they were frisking and searching and such. We had already been waiting a long time. Nevertheless, we got in and the security guard who let us in came in and bought us drinks.

Then there was the venue itself. It was basically a bar. Three sides bar and one side stage. And no chairs, standing room only. For little girls. Lots of little girls. Probably the average age was 12. Then Aly and AJ did not even take the stage until 9:45. They made little girls STAND and wait 2 hours and 15 minutes. Catherine was half-asleep by about 10:15. We were out of there by 10:20. We heard, from the same security guard that let us in, that it was Aly and AJ who caused this mess. They were late getting there, late doing their sound check (which is why we couldn’t even go in until after 8:00); they were not supposed to have an opening act, and they did, Frankie Jordan (she wasn’t terrible either, but the crowd was so tired of waiting for Aly and AJ she didn’t have a chance.); and they didn’t go on until 9:45 when the concert was planned to be over by 9:30. Needless to say, my mom will be getting her money back for that big waste of time. Carolynn enjoyed the songs, but she was tired, her legs hurt, she was having trouble seeing and being squished by people around her.

We finally got home around 1:15 am. Everyone is just beat. Stay tuned for our Hollywood Epic video of the whole thing.

Flat Buns

David loves this commercial, so I am sharing it with the world. Or with people I know who don't have Carls Jr. in their area.

TGIF

It has been a long week and there were only 4 days in it.

Tuesday, David got a new job. He went from working an erratic part time at PetsMart to working full time at a set schedule at the Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart pays more too.

Wednesday, I was driving from work to pick up Carolynn from cross-country practice and my car made this noise when I stopped. Turns out, I needed new brakes. I got some this morning. New brakes do not come cheap, so I was freaking out just a wee bit. However, I am getting better, and my car stops again.

I guess I forgot to mention Carolynn made the cross-country team and her coach thinks she has a very good shot at winning the championships for 6-7th grade girls. He was very excited to see her run. I guess that means she is good. They have their first meet next Thursday. We will see how she does.

Speaking of Carolynn, there was a back to school night at her school last night and we got to go and meet all her teachers and coach. They all seem nice. Carolynn will be doing that same reading program that Catherine does, so she would like books too. They have not started the program yet, so I do not know her level range yet.

Now it is over. Tomorrow we set off on our girl’s only adventure to Hollywood. I have much to do. The girls have been ready for days. I have to charge my camera and phone, wash some clothes, and clean the house and all that grown up mom stuff. Tomorrow I am meeting my mom, sister and cousin at the Krispy Kreame. Yum! Donuts!

David starts his new job tomorrow. Yeah! Job!

Classic Cartoon Week

Every day for the next week we will be featuring a classic cartoon for your enjoyment and at the end of the week we will vote for our favorite. Here is our first one, "The TV Of Tomorrow"

Lazy Sunday

It is another day of nothing. It is just too hot. The whole outdoors is sweaty. It is hot, overcast, and nasty. Carolynn’s friend Jessica is here. They are torturing the cats. Catherine made a birthday wish list and posted it on her page. We had hot dogs for dinner. Catherine ate a whole cantaloupe. Here is the evidence.

I do not have to work tomorrow! Woo! I love not working and still being paid. Holidays rule!

It is consensus that Aunt Paveena absolutely makes the best ever egg rolls.

My Aunt Christine and Uncle Steve won some kind of cool “Day at the Races” thing for today. They get to meet Nascar drivers and all that stuff. I guess it is a huge deal to racing fans. Bet it is damn hot at the races today. I am not a Nascar fan. They are. I know my Grandma and my friend Cari love it too. Maybe Heather’s husband too, I cannot remember.

I am a fan of other races though. I like horse races, if I go. Del Mar is fun. I went to Santa Anita before too. I like video game races. We have Mario Kart and The Simpson’s Road Rage. When I was smaller, we had Pole Position on our Atari. That was high tech.

Birthday Wish List

This is a list of things I want for my birthday on September 21. I will be 8.

1. The Biggest Littlest Pet Shop
2. Littlest Pet Shop Merry Mice
3. Round and Round Pet Town
4. The Littlest Pet Shop Hamster Hideout
5. Teeniest Tiniest Pet Shop
6. The Puppy Place Books- I already have 1 and 2
7. Bunnicula

A Saturday Evening Post

Today we did very little. It was too hot to go out, so we had a picnic in the house. The girls were real excited about books this week so they read all morning. Carolynn finished reading Are You There God? It's Me Margret by Judy Blume. She is writing a review for her page as I type. She is now reading the first Harry Potter. She is so excited because she is only a few pages in and it's already different than the movie. Last night we watched Back To The Future and while we were picnicing we watched Part 2. Tomorrow we will be watching Part 3.

For dinner we had Asian food. If you believe it, both the recipes I used were family recipes. Nope, I am not Asian, but my Aunt Paveena is. She is from Thailand and she taught me to make egg rolls. My mom taught me to make fried rice like that. I don't know where she learned it. We used our Asian tea set and had Japanese tea. We sat around the coffee table. It was fancy. Here are a couple of pictures.

And for all my baseball loving fans out there, here is a picture of a ball game in Ohio my friend Trish sent me.
